Why We Exist

At the heart of our organisation lies a passionate belief – that every young person and their family deserves the opportunity to engage in sports and physical activity, irrespective of their social status and background. We understand the power of sports to not only enhance physical well-being but also to create positive, lasting changes in communities.

We design and deliver high-quality sports and educational programmes in schools and communities, focusing on youth development, crime prevention, and building stronger, more resilient societies.

Community Sport


Sport builds safer, stronger communities in disadvantaged areas. Our programmes disrupt the cycle of youth crime, often fuelled by boredom and alienation, by providing vital support, mentorship, and inspiring opportunities. Qualified staff and local volunteers channel energy positively, empowering at-risk youth to thrive – not only as participants but also as future coaches and community leaders.

Health and Wellbeing

Empowering Young People in Underserved Communities for Healthier, Happier Futures.

Engaging in sports and maintaining physical activity offers numerous advantages for both our physical and mental well-being. Regular exercise significantly lowers the risk of various major illnesses, such as heart disease, stroke, and cancer. Furthermore, staying physically active contributes to improved mood, stress reduction, and a decreased likelihood of experiencing depression and anxiety.

Despite these benefits, many young people growing up in low-income, underserved communities often encounter limited or nonexistent opportunities to participate in sport and access the transformative advantages it provides.

We firmly believe that the right to engage in sport and enjoy its benefits should be accessible to all, not just a privilege for a select few. Through our Doorstep Sport approach, we are dismantling traditional barriers to physical activity. By doing so, we aim to support young people in underserved communities, enabling them to lead lives that are not only healthier but also happier.

SOYD in Education Settings.

We deliver engaging and impactful sports programmes across a diverse range of educational settings, including Primary, Secondary, Sixth Form, Colleges, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools. Our flexible offer seamlessly integrates with the Physical Education curriculum and extends beyond the school day through popular extra-curricular clubs at breakfast, lunch, and after school.
