Community Sport

Sport builds safer, stronger communities in disadvantaged areas. Our programmes disrupt the cycle of youth crime, often fuelled by boredom and alienation, by providing vital support, mentorship, and inspiring opportunities. Qualified staff and local volunteers channel energy positively, empowering at-risk youth to thrive – not only as participants but also as future coaches and community leaders.

Partnerships and Sustainability

We build strong, lasting partnerships by identifying key stakeholders and community needs. Through collaboration and shared goals, we create meaningful relationships that drive collective action. By leveraging each partner's strengths and ensuring clear roles, communication, and evaluation, we maximize impact and sustain long-term commitment.

SOYD in Education Settings

We deliver dynamic sports programmes across diverse educational settings.
From Primary and Secondary schools to PRUs and SEND schools. Our flexible
offer supports the PE curriculum and extends beyond the school day with
popular clubs before, during, and after school.

More than just a sports session.

We are inclusive and consider the needs of diverse young people in underserved communities, addressing age groups, genders and vulnerabilities. We priorities young people from low-income underserved communities, ensuring they are central to the design, development and delivery of each component.

For the families I work with, programmes like Fit and Fed are a lifeline. It's so much more than just a meal and a sports session; it's about providing a safe, positive space where children can socialise, stay active, and feel supported during the school holidays. This helps alleviate the financial pressure and worry for parents, and it gives the whole family a sense of community and routine.

The weekly sessions are the highlight of our youth club's week. I've seen firsthand how a consistent, positive space makes all the difference. Beyond the fun and games, these sessions provide a crucial sense of stability and routine for the young people. They build a solid rapport with the coaches, gain confidence, and learn vital social skills, which is something you simply can't achieve with a one-off event. It's a key part of our offering that keeps them engaged and connected.

The Sport on Your Doorstep clubs have been a game-changer for our school, particularly for the students who usually shy away from PE. We’ve seen a remarkable shift in their confidence and attitude. Providing a relaxed, non-competitive environment during lunchtimes and after school has given them a safe space to try new things and find an activity they genuinely enjoy. It’s been incredible to watch them build relationships with the coaches and their peers, which has had a positive knock-on effect on their behaviour and engagement in the classroom.

The weekly sessions with Sport on Your Doorstep have become an invaluable part of our support for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking children. For young people who have faced unimaginable challenges and are adjusting to a completely new life, these sessions provide a vital sense of normalcy and joy. It’s not just about the sport; it’s about giving them a safe, consistent space to be young, to socialise, and to build trust. This regular, positive interaction is essential for their mental well-being and helps them feel a sense of belonging in their new community.
